We moved into Roslyns in March 2014, and at the time didn't realise the potential of its location.
It was only in April 2014 that we started to realise that the views to the rear were stunning. In 2016 we had the opportunity to purchase - there were a few issues to resolve - damp primarily but also we needed to know that the vision we had would get through planning.
So the main issue was that to enjoy the views to the rear we had to remodel the whole house!
There were two other issues - two front doors and two staircases - great for a bed-and-breakfast but not that great as a family home...
So these were the three issues that the design had to resolve, move the living areas to the rear, reduce the stairs to one main staircase, and have one front door. SIMPLE!
We submitted our plans in August 2018 and after quite intense discussion we obtained planning in November 2018.
